I don't feel like this does anything to address the Leafs shortcomings, and I don't think the return would be right from the Pens standpoint.

Make it a d-man leaving Pittsburgh and then we're talking. They need more Bozek :p

Side note, it's funny that Maata was apparently the original ask for Kessel but the Pens wouldn't bite at the time. It says a lot that fans would let him go for Bozak now.

I'd rather see Marshechault (s), out of Vegas with a look to signing him as a ufa. Vegas would probably take picks & his salary is 760k if my memory serves or something like that. He's had productive years before & suits this team offensively (although not sure about his skating).

Prior to this year, my proposal was Maatta for Conor Brown but Maatta has rebounded well this season and has probably been the most consistent penguins defenseman. I don't think he's expendable anymore. I don't see the Pens moving Letang, Dumo, Schultz, or Maatta.

Agree completely. Our most expendable defenseman with legit value is Dumoulin. Maatta has been budding back into the 2/3 defenseman we thought he would become after his rookie season, which makes his contract great. Dumoulin, on the other hand, has been regressing back to the 4/5 defenseman he was projecting as prior to his outstanding rookie season for two seasons now. That makes his contract mediocre.
